Ukraine and Russia threshed 83% and 88% of sunflower crops

Due to the lack of precipitation, the rate of harvesting of late crops in Ukraine and Russia remains high, while sowing has slowed down, as farmers refuse to sow winter crops against the background of dry conditions and dry weather forecasts for the coming weeks.

Ukrhydrometeocenter reports that due to the lack of precipitation (and in most regions the amount of precipitation since the beginning of September was only 20-50% of the norm, and in October they were not at all), the number of areas with unsatisfactory soil moisture has sharply increased.

In Ukraine, sunflower is threshed on 83% of the area, and given the average yield, it will not be possible to collect the projected USDA 17 million tons, while in Russia 88% is threshed and the forecast of 15 million tons looks real.
