Ukraine and the European Commission Extend "Transport Visa-Free Regime" Until 2025

Ukraine and the European Commission have agreed to extend the "transport visa-free regime" for one year, with the possibility of automatic extension until the end of 2025. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram and the press service of the Ministry of Restoration.
The agreement was signed today in Brussels with the bilateral participation of representatives from Ukraine and the EU. As a result, freight transportation between Ukraine and the European Union will no longer require special permits.
The updated agreement also includes several mutual obligations regarding transport licenses and truck markings for those conducting transportation under the Agreement. These include:
- Marking of trucks performing transportation under the Agreement.
- All drivers must have a transport license or other confirming documents during transportation.
- Carriers traveling empty to pick up goods must have confirming documents for the goods they plan to import.
"The 'transport visa-free regime' has already strengthened our economy. In the year and a half since the agreement was in effect, Ukraine exported almost 50% more goods to the EU than in the comparable period before its signing," stated the Ministry of Restoration.
Prime Minister Shmyhal emphasized that this includes goods and components necessary for Ukrainian manufacturers to set up their production processes.
