Ukraine may lose the main buyer of sugar in case, if in the near future will not solve the problem with Uzbekistan.

"Due to the prohibition to accept products from Ukraine, domestic products, including sugar, in the territory of Uzbekistan is not unloaded, and not carried out their customs clearance," - said representatives of the Association "Ukrtsukor".

"This situation leads to non-compliance of previously concluded contracts. Given that in the last 6 months, Uzbekistan has been a key buyer of domestic sugar, the likelihood of losing a major sales market", - emphasized in "Ukrtsukor".

exported by Ukraine in 2017/18 MG 560,4 thousand tons of sugar nearly 210 thousand tons were purchased in Uzbekistan.

the Association formally appealed to the Ministry of agrarian policy and Ministry of economic development to clarify the situation with the detention Uzbekistan exported from Ukraine products and contribute to early resolution of the problem.

As of November 27, Ukrainian sugar plants produced 1.4 million tons of sugar, and by the end of 2017, the total sugar production exceeded 2 million tons.
