In October, export demand for barley increased in Ukraine

In October, the export demand for barley increased somewhat in Ukraine, which is due to the improvement of the operation of the Black Sea ports. But the crop is still in the greatest demand in the domestic market, experts of the analytical center of the PUSK agricultural cooperative, established within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, reported on October 24.

Barley with certification for China is offered at $118-120/t with delivery to Odesa ports until November 10, and during this period 50,000 tons of grain have already been sold with delivery to the People's Republic of China. In case of intensification of shipments through Odesa ports, prices for barley may increase by another $5/t, but significant growth should not be expected, analysts believe.

At the same time, barley is not exported through the Danube ports, although the indicative price is $125-130/ton.

The best price for barley is currently on the western border (WB), where it reaches $135-140/t on a DAP basis, but there is little demand in that direction.

The biggest demand for barley remains in the domestic market. Processing plants are the main buyers and offer 4,500-4,800 hryvnias/ton for barley. In the near future, domestic prices will remain stable, experts believe.
