In March, Ukrzaliznytsia transported more than 220,000 tons of grain to the western border

During March, 924 thousand tons of grain cargo were transported by railways of Ukraine. V. Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Work Department of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, told about this on April 7 at a meeting with representatives of the grain market, Rail.insider reports.

In March, Ukrzaliznytsia loaded 7.97 million tons of cargo, of which 8.6% or 685 thousand tons were grain. At the same time, grain transportation reached 924 thousand tons. This discrepancy is due to the fact that some of the cars were loaded in February, but with the start of hostilities remained in the network. After unloading, this volume was added to the rate of traffic in March.

In March, the volume of domestic grain traffic amounted to 508 thousand tons, export - 416 thousand tons, in particular, more than 222 thousand tons of grain were moved through the western border crossings. Other cargoes were delivered to seaports, which are currently blocked by Russian troops.

The volume of average daily loading continues to grow, and in the last decade of March reached 35 thousand tons. For the first 6 days of April, the volume of cargo loading amounted to 1.77 million tons, of which 12% or 206 thousand tons - grain. The average daily load of grain is 34 thousand tons.
