In the 2026/27 MY, Ukraine already exported 4 million tons of grain, despite the decrease in export rates

In the 2026/27 MY (as of September 4), Ukraine reduced exports of grain and leguminous crops compared to the corresponding period last year by 14% from 4.544 to 3.913 million tons, the State Customs Service reports.

In particular, wheat exports decreased by 40% from 2.987 to 1.794 million tons, barley by 43% from 651 to 369 thousand tons, while corn exports increased by 91% from 886 thousand tons to 1.689 million tons due to active shipments in July.

During August, Ukraine exported only 606 thousand tons of wheat, 69 thousand tons of barley and 306 thousand tons of corn, and in 4 days of September - 117 thousand tons of wheat, 1 thousand tons of barley and 69 thousand tons of corn, i.e. a total of 187 thousand tons of grain, while last year in 4 days of September 415 thousand tons of grain were shipped.

Flour exports in the 2026/27 MY increased compared to the previous season from 10.6 to 13.9 thousand tons. With the conversion of flour to grain, total grain exports in the 2026/27 MY amounted to 3.932 million tons (4.558 million tons on the same date last year).

Rapeseed exports in August increased compared to July from 15 to 270 thousand tons, while soybean exports decreased from 62 to 28 thousand tons during this period. In September, traders will continue to increase rapeseed and wheat exports through the western border and Danube ports, although experts believe that these routes will be able to provide only 50-60% of export needs if the Black Sea ports are blocked, which will lead to an increase in grain stocks in the second half of the season.
