In the 2025/26 MY, Ukraine increased rapeseed oil exports by 2.5 times
According to the Ukroliyaprom association, in the 2025/26 MY, rapeseed oil exports from Ukraine increased 2.5 times compared to the previous season to 520 thousand tons, and revenue increased more than 3 times to $588 million.
The main buyers of Ukrainian rapeseed oil in the 2025/26 MY were:
- Spain – 109.1 thousand tons worth $121.6 million,
- Poland – 99 thousand tons worth $112.4 million,
- Bulgaria – 95.7 thousand tons worth $107.9 million,
- Netherlands – 62.4 thousand tons worth $69.7 million,
- Belgium – 27.8 thousand tons worth $30.9 million.
The share of the EU country in Ukrainian imports of rapeseed oil in the 2025/26 MY amounted to 92.8%.
As a result of the introduction of a 10% duty on soybean and rapeseed exports in September 2025, rapeseed processing in the 2025/26 MY exceeded 1.3 million tons, which amounted to 42% of the gross harvest and became a record figure for the entire period of processing of this crop in Ukraine.
In the 2026/27 MY, rapeseed processing volumes will increase due to the suspension of sea exports and a drop in domestic rapeseed prices, so rapeseed oil exports may reach a record level, which will contribute to a decrease in prices.
Currently, the demand prices for rapeseed oil with delivery to the western border of Ukraine are €1,050/t or $1,190-1,200/t, and with delivery to the EU - $1,250-1,260/t, while the demand prices for deliveries to China have decreased by $20-25/t to $1,250-1,260/t CFR, so we expect a further drop in prices.
