Turkish agency TMO purchased 280,000 tons of feed corn at $7/ton more than in February

According to market operators, the Turkish State Food Procurement Agency TMO purchased, as planned, about 280 thousand tons of feed corn from Turkish companies in a tender on March 16, with shipments scheduled for March 25 to April 10, 2026, in batches of 20 - 60 thousand tons.

Of this volume, 150 thousand tons of corn were purchased from customs warehouses in Turkey at a price of $248.75-261/ton on an EXW basis, and another 130 thousand tons were purchased with delivery to the port at a price of $249.75-252/ton C&F.

It is planned that 100 thousand tons of corn will be delivered to the port of Izmir, 80 thousand tons to Karas, 70 thousand tons to Bandirma and 25 thousand tons to Samsun.

The purchase price exceeded the average purchase price of the TMO tender of February 26, at which 50 thousand tons of corn were purchased on a CFR basis at a price of $243.4-243.9/ton and 300 thousand tons at a price of $250.9-252.7/ton on an EXW basis.

Again, most of the purchased TMO corn is already in warehouses in Turkey, and only 130 thousand tons will be imported, so the tender results will not be able to increase demand for Ukrainian corn, the prices of which have increased by $1-2/ton to $213-214/ton with delivery to Black Sea ports during the two weeks of the war in Iran.
