Tunisia and Jordan purchased wheat and barley at tenders at prices significantly higher than in August

The Tunisian State Grain Agency purchased 125,000 tons of soft wheat and 75,000 tons of feed barley in an international tender on September 23.

Wheat was purchased from Buildcom and Soufflet in five batches of 25 thousand tons at a price of $311.72-314.23/ton C&F and delivered from October 1 to December 15, depending on the region of origin of the grain.

Recall that at an international tender on July 30, ODC purchased 75 thousand tons of soft wheat at an average price of $288.19/ton C&F, which indicates an increase in world prices against the backdrop of reduced supplies from the Black Sea region.

Barley was purchased from Soufflet, Al Ghurair and Bunge in three batches of 25 thousand tons at a price of $304.23-307.62/ton C&F and delivered from October 20 to November 30, while in the tender on August 27, 2026, the average purchase price was $301.7/ton C&F.

Jordan's state procurement agency MIT purchased about 60,000 tons of food wheat of any origin from Buildcom in an international tender on September 22 (out of the planned 120,000 tons) for delivery to the port of Aqaba on November 1-15 at a price of $332/ton C&F, which significantly exceeds the price of the tender from August 18, where 60,000 tons of wheat were purchased at $318.95/ton C&F.

Also offering wheat at the tender were companies CHS ($335.88/t), Olam ($339/t), and Cargill ($342.93/t).
