Tunisia purchased 100,000 tons of wheat at a tender price of $15/ton more than in June
On July 21, the Tunisian Grain Agency (ODC) held a tender for the purchase of 75,000 tons of common wheat of any origin, at which it purchased 100,000 tons of wheat with shipment from August 10 to September 9, 2026 at an average price of $283.19/ton C&F, European traders report.
The purchase price exceeded the June tender price by $15/t, as the contract was for mainly European wheat, which has now risen sharply in price against the backdrop of a possible reduction in supplies of Black Sea wheat from the Russian Federation and Ukraine as a result of military operations.
The following lots were purchased at the tender:
- 25 thousand tons from Grainstar at $270/ton,
- 25 thousand t in Amber $293.69/t,
- 25 thousand t in Casillo at $289.59/t,
- 25 thousand t in Casillo at $279.49/t.
The cheapest offer was from Grainstar ($270/t), the most expensive was from Soufflet ($306.88/t).
Recall that in a tender on June 4, the Tunisian Grain Agency (ODC) purchased 75,000 tons of common wheat of any origin from Bunge at a price of $268.16/ton C&F with delivery between July 1 and August 15.
