Tender for the purchase of feed barley in Tunisia will contribute to the growth of world prices for barley

The Tunisian Grain Agency (ODC) held a tender on November 7 to purchase 75,000 tons of feed barley of any origin, Reuters reports.

The following parties were contracted:

• 25 thousand tons at Euro Commodities at $257/ton C&F,
• 25 thousand tons at Casillo at $267.25/ton C&F,
• 25 thousand tons at Casillo at $268.49/ton C&F.

The cheapest offer in the tender was from Euro Commodities, which, according to traders, will supply barley from the Russian Federation, while Casillo will supply barley from Europe. According to the terms of the tender, depending on the origin, the shipment of barley should be carried out from November 25 to December 30, 2025.

Recall that last week, the Jordanian state agency MIT purchased 60,000 tons of feed barley of any origin at an international tender at a price of $269.25/ton C&F.

The increase in world barley demand prices has already led to an increase in barley prices in Ukraine to $220-222/t or UAH 10,400-10,500/t with delivery to ports, especially given the limited supply.
