Sugar prices in Ukraine may rise in the coming months

Sugar prices have begun to rise in Ukraine, which may accelerate at the beginning of 2025, according to analysts of the PUSK agricultural cooperative, established within the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council.

According to experts, during the week the prices rose on average by 1-1.5 UAH/kg to 23-24.5 UAH/kg thanks to the recovery of exports and stabilization of domestic demand. Turkey and African countries remain the main destinations of export sales. The lack of supplies to Europe complicates the situation, but the export scheme through third countries is yielding results.

From January 1, 2025, supplies of Ukrainian sugar to the EU market will resume, which may lead to a significant increase in prices. In the previous season, prices reached 29-32 thousand UAH/t (including VAT), so in the second half of the current season, they may also rise sharply.
