Sunflower oil prices in Ukraine fell by $30-40/ton

During the week, sunflower oil prices in Ukraine fell by $30-40/t to $770/t with delivery to the Danube ports, as a result of which many processors stopped sales, - reports trader K. Bugera in a review for the Lyubaretsky Soybean Processing Plant.

"Further prospects are unknown, since sunflower is not getting cheaper, and the processing margin has become negative, so the situation for processors is very difficult," the trader explains.

Soybean oil prices have remained stable both in the world and in Ukraine for three weeks (630-670 €/t at the factory). But despite the presence of a good price, refiners cannot sell the oil due to logistical problems with export.

In the domestic market, the demand from compound feed producers is quite limited, and prices with delivery are lower than the factories are willing to sell on the spot (taking into account the equivalent of export sales).

We will remind that in 2023/24 MR Ukraine exported only 764.4 thousand tons of sunflower oil, which is 20.5% less than the corresponding indicator of the previous season.
