The world is waiting for Iran's reaction to the attack on 14 of the 17 largest military facilities

On the night of January 28, explosions rang out at large military facilities in Iran, leading to fires, and in the city of Khoya, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 occurred after a powerful explosion at a secret facility.

Smoke was observed at 14 of the 17 largest military facilities located in different parts of the country. Iran's Security Council convened for an emergency meeting, but there were no official statements. Except that the head of the country's MFA said at a meeting with four representatives of the parliament, against whom Europe imposed sanctions, that "the act of the European Parliament showed a lack of understanding of the internal situation of Iran and Iranians abroad. Two months ago, we informed the EU authorities that if measures were taken against the Islamic Republic Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran's response would be very harsh."

Tehran's reaction now shows that it is shocked and unable to react to the strikes. Admitting an attack by Israel requires a response, but Iran is only capable of continuing terrorist attacks against the civilian population or massive rocket attacks. At the same time, Israel has found the weak points of the enemy and, given the attitude of the Netanyahu government, is not going to stop.

The night strikes on Iran were supported by the country's citizens and led to increased protests and attacks on IRGC and Basij bases. The Iranian authorities are most afraid of a foreign invasion, but of their own people, so they point their weapons at ordinary people and turn off the Internet to make it difficult to get fresh data.

The Israeli government has said that it does not expect an escalation, although it is ready for it. Iranian terrorists welcomed the prosecution of all those involved in attacks against Israelis: not only the terrorists themselves, but also their families and even acquaintances.

It is worth noting that the Shahed and Mohajer drone manufacturing plant in Isfaghan was not damaged as initially reported. That is, as a result of the attack, another military enterprise was damaged, and therefore it is not worth hoping that Russia will not receive a new batch of "mopeds" in time.

The escalation of the conflict with Israel is beneficial both to the Iranian authorities, which hope to quell domestic protests with the need to fight an external threat, and to the Russian authorities, which expect an increase in oil prices. Currently, oil prices, especially the Urals brand, continue to fall, which reduces Russian revenues and the ability to support the war against Ukraine.
