Dry and warm weather helps harvest

According to the forecasts of meteorologists in the coming days in Ukraine, in most regions of Russia and Kazakhstan will be dominated by warm and dry weather, which will contribute to the harvest.

In Ukraine as of 14 Sep collected

soy - 608 thousand tons 257 thousand hectares (15% of area) with productivity of 2.37 t/ha,

corn and 1.5 million tonnes from 274 thousand hectares (6% of area) with a yield of 5.49 t/ha.

• sunflower - 3.6 million tonnes from 1.7 million hectares (29% of area) with a yield of 2.07 t/ha,

precipitation in the Siberian and Urals Federal districts of Russia threshed only 22% and 39% of spring wheat and barley crops respectively . Dry weather next week will accelerate the harvest.

In Russia as of 14 September, from 32.3 million hectares (69,6% of the area) produced 88,2 million tons of grain and legumes with an average yield of 2.73 t/ha, 4.5 t/ha lower than in the corresponding date of 2017.

So, now assembled:

with 6.6 million ha (79.2% of the area) 15,3 million tonnes of spring and winter barley with a yield of 2.32 t/ha (2017 was produced 19.4 million tons with a yield of 2.85 t/ha),

572,1 thousand hectares (7.1% of area) of 1.1 million tons of sunflower seed yield of 1.92 t/ha (2017 – 2.23 t/ha)

356,4 thousand ha (14.3% of the area) 1.2 million MT of corn with a yield of 3.27 t/ha (2017 – 4,87 t/ha).

• 19.9 million hectares (72.9% of area) of 61.9 million tonnes of spring and winter wheat with a yield of 3.11 t/ha (2017 – 3.5 t/ha)

In Kazakhstan, heavy rainfall delayed the harvesting campaign, and as of September 14, threshed only of 6.35 million hectares or 46% of the planned 15 million hectares. Traders are concerned about the possible deterioration and gross harvest of wheat.
