UK rates for grain trucks and tankers will rise again in November, which will increase pressure on grain prices
From November 1, 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia is increasing the rates for using certain types of freight cars of the CTL branch for transportation on a 1520 mm gauge.
Thus, compared to the previous month, the rates for using the following wagons (excluding VAT) will increase:
- grain carriers – by 12% or 400 UAH to 3771 UAH/day,
- gondola cars — by 100 UAH up to 1850 UAH/day,
- cement trucks — by 200 UAH to 1897 UAH/day,
- round-trip trucks - by 100 UAH to 1498 UAH/day,
- food tanks - by 100 UAH up to 1850 UAH/day,
- liquefied gas tanks — by UAH 100 to UAH 503/day,
- 40-foot fitting platforms — by 892 UAH to 3192 UAH/day,
- 60-foot platforms - by 100 UAH up to 2750 UAH/day.
At the same time, rates for the use of 80-foot fitting platforms will decrease compared to October by UAH 100 to UAH 2,900/day, and rates for universal platforms and for converted and modernized tanks will remain at the level of UAH 2,400/day and UAH 6,251/day, respectively.
The increase in the cost of renting grain trucks will increase pressure on domestic grain prices, as the duration of car downtime at the western border during expected unloading increases due to delays in the approach of European trains.
