The rental rate for grain trucks of Ukrzaliznytsia will increase by 47% in December

From December 1, 2025, the rental rate for grain wagons owned by the Transport Logistics Center branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC will be increased to 1,250 UAH/day (excluding VAT) (compared to 850 UAH/day in November), the company's website reports.

The rental rate for tankers for transporting food products will also increase compared to November - from 638 UAH/day to 738 UAH/day.

At the same time, in December, the rate for using wagons for transporting flour of the conventional type 972 will decrease - from 950 UAH/day to 750 UAH/day and for renting a gondola wagon - from 1,500 UAH/day to 1,350 UAH/day.

The increase in the cost of renting state-owned grain carriers automatically increases the prices of private grain carriers. Recall that in November, railway logistics has already become more expensive by 50-100% compared to September. The increase in the cost of railway logistics for grain exports will continue to limit deliveries to ports and reduce the pace of exports, which will reduce both farmers' incomes and foreign exchange earnings to the state, so this decision by UZ will have negative consequences for the Ukrainian economy.
