Favorable rainfall in the US, Europe, Australia and Canada improves crop prospects, while dry conditions persist in China, the Russian Federation and Ukraine

This season, conditions in the main grain-producing countries are favorable for a good harvest, but there are regions, such as eastern and southern Ukraine, the southwestern region of the Russian Federation, and central China, where dry weather persists for a long time, which reduces the harvest potential.
In the Midwest and Plains of the United States, very favorable conditions for spring wheat, corn and soybeans remain, which continues to raise crop forecasts and put pressure on world prices. After a short period of hot weather, these regions have again received heavy precipitation, which led to a decrease in temperatures. Cool weather with almost daily precipitation is forecast for next week, and only at the weekend temperatures are expected to rise to 28-30 ° C.
The winter wheat harvest is almost complete and the spring wheat harvest has begun, but excessive rainfall could affect wheat quality in some regions.
In the Canadian prairies, especially in the arid regions of the province of Alberta, precipitation will occur this week and next, which, against the background of low temperatures, will continue to improve the condition of spring wheat and canola crops, as well as soybeans and corn.
In Australia, rainfall is increasing, increasing moisture reserves in winter wheat, barley and canola fields, which will help restore vegetation. Additional cyclones are forecast in August, bringing rain to all growing regions.
Rain has been falling across much of Europe this week and will continue next week, which will improve the condition of late-season crops but delay the harvest of rapeseed, wheat and barley and worsen grain quality.
This week, western Ukraine has seen excessive rainfall, which has replenished moisture reserves but delayed harvest and reduced the quality of wheat and barley due to the spread of fungal diseases, while eastern and southern regions continue to suffer from heat and drought, and damage is already being seen to sunflower crops, which are much more drought-resistant.
The heat and drought continue in the Black Sea region of southwestern Russia, where a lack of precipitation is also reducing the yield potential of late crops. Scattered rains are forecast there next week, which will reduce high temperatures, but the amount of precipitation will be limited. In other growing zones in the Russian Federation, conditions remain favorable for early and late crops.
Central China, particularly the North China Plain, has been more affected by heat and drought this season than other regions, but scattered rains are forecast for next week. Meanwhile, conditions in the corn and soybean growing areas of northeast China have been and continue to be favorable.
