Saudi Arabia has purchased about 683,000 tonnes of durum wheat with a protein content of 12.5% in an international tender that ended on October 5, compared to the initial planned volume of 535,000 tonnes, the country's General Food Security Authority (GFSA) said.
The tender offered wheat originating from the EU, the Black Sea region, North and South America, and Australia. The contracted grain is to be delivered in 11 batches during November–December 2026.
Two batches of 60 thousand tons each from Cargill at $342.7/ton C&F and Aston at $342.9/ton C&F, as well as 65 thousand tons from Olam at $338.5/ton C&F, will be delivered to the port of Jeddah.
Four consignments of 65 thousand tons each from Bunge will arrive at the port of Yanbu at prices of $334.6, $337.6, $336.5 and $339.5/ton C&F, as well as 60 thousand tons from CHS at $338.8/ton.
Operator Olam will deliver 63 thousand tons to the port of Neom at $336.5/ton C&F and another 60 thousand tons at $337.2/ton C&F.
Another 55,000 tons of wheat are to be delivered to the port of Jizan by Souflett at a price of $348/t C&F.
As a result, Saudi Arabia purchased 148,000 tons more wheat than originally planned, indicating continued active import demand for quality food wheat.
