Saudi Arabia purchased 661,000 tons of wheat at a tender $7.5/ton cheaper than in March
The General Authority for Food Security of Saudi Arabia (GFSA) purchased 661,000 tons of food wheat for delivery in September-October at an international tender last week at an average price of $269.4/ton C&F, which is $7.5/ton lower than in the March tender for deliveries in July-August.
The tender offered wheat produced in the EU, the Black Sea region, Australia, and North and South America.
The purchased grain should be delivered in September - October in 11 batches.
To the port of Jeddah:
- two batches of 62 thousand tons from operator Holagri at a price of $268.21/ton and $268.4/ton C&F,
- 60 thousand tons from Cargill at $268.21/ton C&F,
- 60 thousand tons from Olam at $271.45/ton C&F.
The following will be delivered to the port of Yanbu:
- two batches of 60 thousand tons from the operator Aston at a price of $268.5/ton and $269/ton,
- 60 thousand tons from Bunge at $269.36/ton,
- 60 thousand tons from GrainCorp Ameropa at $269.9/ton,
- 60 thousand tons from Cargill at $269.82/ton,
- 62 thousand tons from Holagri at $267.72/ton.
The operator Holagri will deliver 55 thousand tons of wheat to the port of Jizan in one shipment at a price of $272.75/ton C&F.
Recall that in March, in a tender where it was planned to purchase 710 thousand tons of food wheat, GFSA purchased 985 thousand tons of wheat for delivery in July-August 2026 at an average price of $276.93/ton C&F.
