Russia has sharply increased sales of wheat without export duties to the EAEU countries, in particular Kazakhstan

According to ProZerno monitoring, food wheat prices rose the most in Russia last week in Siberia, due to high demand from Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries that are part of the EAEU. Grain supplies to these countries are not subject to export duties, and the wheat harvest there this year due to the drought will be the smallest in the last 9-10 years.

So, during the week in Siberia, Class 3 wheat rose in price by 335 rubles/ton to 17,000 rubles/ton, and Class 4 – by 315 rubles/ton to 16,117 rubles/ton, while in the European part of the EU, Class 3 wheat rose in price by 65 rubles/ton to 17,330 rubles/ton (EXW, with VAT of 10%), and Class 4 – by 115 rubles/ton to 16,855 rubles/ton.

Now the highest prices for food wheat have developed in the Urals, where in a week of Class 3 it rose in price from 18,275 to 18,338 rubles/ton, and Class 4 – from 17,413 to 17,675 rubles/ton due to the drought-induced decrease in yield.

However, the Rosselkhoznadzor found 466 violations in grain exports to Kazakhstan in 9 months and plans to strengthen control over shipments. We are talking about deliveries without phytosanitary certificates, as well as non-compliance of cargo with the requirements of technical regulations in force on the territory of the EAEU. Violations are committed by both Russian and Kazakh entrepreneurs, so the authorities of both countries will exercise control together.

According to the Center for assessing the quality of grain and its processed products (a division of the Rosselkhoznadzor), from July 1 to October 28, Kazakhstan, which ranks third among buyers of Russian grain, increased its imports by 15% to 0.8 million tons, in particular wheat – to 0.7 million tons.
