Leading wheat exporting countries reduced supplies to the world market by almost 10 million tons in the 2026/27 MY

The main world wheat exporters - the USA, Australia, Argentina, Ukraine, the Russian Federation and EU countries - shipped about 44.7 million tons of wheat to the world market in 3.5 months of the 2026/27 MY, which is 9.3 million tons less than the corresponding figure of the previous season, Interfax reports.

Thus, supplies from Ukraine and the Russian Federation decreased by 7.5 million tons, and from the USA by 3.7 million tons, which was only partially offset by an increase in exports from Canada by 1.4 million tons and the EU by 0.6 million tons.

Analysts believe that importers will eventually be forced to purchase the required volumes, which, against the backdrop of the blocking of supplies from Black Sea ports, will lead to a further increase in export prices.

At the same time, experts predict that the Russian Federation will export 3 million tons of wheat in October (compared to 2.9 million tons in September), since in the first two decades of the month the country has already shipped 1.5 million tons of grain.
