The capacity of the border crossing point with Romania for trucks will be doubled

The cargo terminal at the Porubne-Siret border crossing point on the Ukrainian-Romanian border is being modernized, which will double the throughput capacity of the crossing and speed up the clearance of cargo transport.

The first phase of work has now been completed, with cement concrete pavement, drainage and wastewater treatment systems, radiation control, outdoor lighting, and a border guard pavilion installed.

The next stage is planned to equip additional infrastructure and install modern equipment for customs and border control.

Thanks to the modernization, four additional lanes for freight transport will appear at the checkpoint, and its throughput capacity will double - up to 150 trucks per day in the direction of exit from Ukraine, which will speed up the movement of vehicles across the border.

The modernization of the checkpoint is financed by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program, under which 50% of the funds are provided by the EU and 50% by the state budget of Ukraine.
