Dry weather forecasts in the US and Canada and beneficial rainfall in Brazil will be the main factors influencing markets in the near future

This week's weather has been mostly favorable for harvesting and planting in major grain exporting countries, and next week's forecasts promise even better conditions during important growing seasons.

On Thursday, the markets were affected by the following weather factors: an atmospheric front moving across the US and bringing scattered showers and heavy rain in places (which will interrupt the harvest for several days), an improvement in the short-term forecast for Brazil, as well as cool weather in Argentina.

A front with heavy showers and thunderstorms will pass through the Midwest and Plains of the United States this week, which, although it will suspend the harvest, will be very beneficial for winter crops. Next week, cold weather with frosts is forecast for several days, followed by 7-10 days of dry and warm weather with temperatures of 15-20 degrees, which will allow to accelerate the harvest rate, which is 5-6% lower than average.

Dry weather with little precipitation is also forecast for the Canadian prairies, which will allow for the completion of the harvest, which was delayed by prolonged rains in early September.

Brazil has seen increased rainfall this week, moving from the south to the central regions where the main soybean crops are located, which will increase soil moisture reserves and allow farmers to accelerate planting. The south is currently too wet and the north is too dry, so a new front with heavy rains is forecast next week, moving from south to north, which will accelerate planting across Brazil.

Argentina also received light rain, which increased soil moisture and facilitated corn and wheat planting, but cold air is holding back planting. Rising temperatures and additional precipitation are expected next week, which will facilitate planting.

The weather in Europe is generally favorable for sowing and development of winter crops, as well as for the completion of the harvest. Western regions will receive more precipitation next week, which will positively affect the development of winter crops, especially in France, which suffered from severe drought in the summer.

In Ukraine, dry and warm weather has accelerated the harvesting of sunflower and soybeans, as well as the sowing of winter wheat, and prolonged precipitation forecast for the coming weeks will improve moisture reserves and the condition of rapeseed and wheat crops. Due to the blockade of sea exports and falling prices, some farmers plan to postpone the harvesting of corn to spring to save money on drying and storage.

Also, rains are forecast for the southwest of the Russian Federation next week, which will improve moisture reserves and the condition of winter crops in the main winter wheat growing region.

Australia's north-eastern wheat belt is set to receive favourable rainfall this week and next. The rains will be very timely for a decent crop. Satellite images from the country show that crops are generally in good condition.

In central and northeastern China, favorable weather conditions for corn and soybean harvests remain, and only light rainfall is forecast, which will improve the condition of winter wheat and rapeseed crops.
