Polish farmers again blocked the border with Ukraine due to the EU agreement with South America

On the morning of November 23, Polish farmers renewed the blockade of the border with Ukraine at the "Medyka-Sheghini" checkpoint, the State Border Service of Ukraine reports. According to preliminary information, the promotion will last 48 hours, but may be extended.
During the blockade, farmers will not allow vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons to enter Poland, while one truck per hour will be allowed to leave Poland. The restrictions will not apply to buses and cars. At the time of the beginning of the blockade, there was no line of trucks in front of the specified checkpoint for exiting Ukraine, and about 150 cars had accumulated to enter.
According to the Polish mass media, the protesters did not announce any demands for the transportation of Ukrainian products. They demand the preservation of the level of the agricultural tax at the level of 2023 and oppose the free trade agreement between the EU and the countries of South America from the MERCOSUR block.
It is not clear why Polish farmers are protesting against the agreement with South America at the border with Ukraine, and not in Brussels, and why they are not blocking imports at their ports. But such paid shares play into the hands of the Russian Federation and right-wing Polish politicians.
