Weather helps harvest in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia
Warm and dry weather facilitates the gathering of late cereal and industrial crops in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia. Through September rains in Siberia threshed, only 54% of areas, compared to 90% for the same period last year, in Kazakhstan – 77,8% of the area against 98% in 2017. In comparison with last year, Kazakhstan significantly reduced wheat crop in Russia – wheat, barley and maize, while the production of oilseeds in all three countries will increase.
According to the Ministry of agrarian policy, as of September 28, domestic farmers from 11 million hectares (74% of the area) harvested 40.1 million tonnes of grain with a yield of 3.64 t/ha, in particular:
corn – 5.3 million tons with a yield of 5.73 t/ha.
- early grain and leguminous crops – to 34.3 mln tonnes with the yield of 3.48 t/ha,
in addition harvested:
2.7 million tonnes of rapeseed with a yield of 2.61 t/ha,
1.7 million tonnes of soybeans with a yield of 2.45 t/ha.
- 8.3 million tons of sunflower seeds with a yield of 2.16 t/ha,
Russia as of September 28, with 38 million hectares (84.6% of the areas) produced of 98.4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops with the productivity of 2.59 t/ha, which is 4.2 kg/ha lower than in the corresponding date last year.
currently in the country are collected:
from 7.4 million hectares (92.6% of squares) of 16.6 million tonnes of spring and winter barley (in 2017 – 20.9 million tons) with a yield of 2.26 t/ha,
with 847,2 thousand hectares (35.1% of the areas) 3.1 million tons of corn for grain with a yield of 3.68 t/ha (2017 was 4.77 t/ha),
1 million hectares (37.1% of squares) to 1.9 million tons of soybeans with a yield of 1.81 t/ha (2017 to 1.68 million tons),
with 2.2 million hectares (27% of area) of 3.8 million tonnes of sunflower with a yield of 1.78 t/ha (2017 – 1.92 million t),
1 million hectares (65.6% of the area) 1.5 million tonnes of rapeseed (in 2017 – 1.3 million tonnes) with the yield of 1.49 t/ha (2017 – 1.79 million tons).
- with 23 million ha (86.8% of acreage) of 67.2 million tonnes of spring and winter wheat (in 2017 – 83,9 million tons) with a yield of 2.92 t/ha,
Kazakhstan on that date from 11.69 million hectares (77.8% of area) harvested of 15.34 million tons of grain with the yield of 1.31 t/ha, while on this date last year was harvested 20,89 million tons with 98% of the area.
