The weather contributes to the harvesting of late crops in Ukraine, Russia and the USA

Favorable weather conditions for harvesting late crops and sowing winter crops in Ukraine, Russia and the United States will continue for at least another two weeks, which will allow completing the harvesting of soybeans and sunflowers.

In Ukraine, as of September 30, 47 million tons of grain and leguminous crops with an average yield of 4.38 t/ha were threshed from 10.74 million hectares or 67% of the area.

Collected as of the specified date:

  • wheat – 32.2 million tons from 7 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 4.62 t / ha,
  • barley – 9.6 million tons from 2.46 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 4 t / ha,
  • peas – 576.17 thousand tons from 236.3 thousand hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 2.44 t / ha,
  • corn – 1.87 million tons from 358.77 thousand hectares or 7% of the area with a yield of 5.21 t / ha,
  • sunflower-5.85 million tons from 2.7 million hectares or 42% of the area with a yield of 2.21 t / ha,

  • millet – 151.05 thousand tons from 63.44 thousand hectares or 81% of the area with a yield of 2.38 t / ha,
  • sugar beet – 2.26 million tons from 47.15 thousand hectares with a yield of 44.96 t/ha.

In Russia, as of September 30, 106.4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed from 40.6 million hectares, in particular:

  • wheat-74.5 million tons from 26.5 million hectares or 93% of the area with a yield of 2.81 t / ha,
  • barley – 18.2 million tons from 7.6 million hectares or 95% of the area with a yield of 2.39 t / ha,
  • corn – 3 million tons from 633.4 thousand hectares with a yield of 4.73 t / ha,
  • sunflower-5 million tons from 3.2 million hectares or 29% of the area with a yield of 1.56 t / ha,
  • rapeseed-2.3 million tons from 1.3 million hectares with a yield of 1.77 t / ha,
  • soybeans - 1.5 million tons from 876.5 thousand hectares with a yield of 1.71 t / ha,
  • sugar beet – 12.2 million tons from 328.7 thousand hectares with a yield of 37.12 t/ha.

In the United States, as of September 27, corn was harvested on 18% of the area, and soybeans – on 16%, compared with 15% and 13%, respectively, on average over 5 years.

In Europe, prolonged rainfall delays harvesting, especially in France, where corn is threshed on only 2% of the area, up from 31% last year.

On September 30, the European Commission raised its forecast for wheat production in the EU in 2021/22 MG from 127.2 to 131 million tons(117.1 in 2020/21 MG), but lowered it for corn from 71 to 68.8 million tons.

In Canada, dry weather will also prevail this week, which will speed up the harvesting of soybeans and corn.
