Larger areas sown with winter rapeseed in Ukraine than predicted

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of October 21, 1.12 million hectares were sown with winter rapeseed in Ukraine, which is 101.4% of the planned area.

 

In total, 3.93 million hectares or 75.4% of the projected area was sown with winter grains, including 558.7 thousand hectares in the last week.

 

In terms of crops, the following were sown:

• wheat – 3.51 million hectares or 77.4% of the forecast,
• barley – 343.8 thousand hectares or 57.9%,
• rye – 70.7 thousand hectares or 92.1%.

 

The leaders in winter crop sowing are farmers from Mykolaiv region (462 thousand hectares), Dnipropetrovsk region (399 thousand hectares) and Kirovohrad region (348 thousand hectares).
