Rainfall in the US, Europe, Argentina and central Brazil and dry conditions in southern Ukraine and the Russian Federation will affect markets in the near future

This week and next, the entire US "corn belt" will experience cool weather with prolonged precipitation and heavy downpours, which will prevent the ripening and drying of corn and soybeans, as well as delay the active start of harvesting, which will support prices.

Precipitation will contribute to the accumulation of moisture on the eve of sowing and accelerate the development of already sown winter wheat.

The weather in the Canadian prairies over the next 7-10 days will be drier and more favorable for harvesting late crops, so forecasts of good harvests may be confirmed.

In southern Brazil , where there has been sufficient rainfall, active sowing of first crop corn and soybeans is underway, while in central Brazil is forecasting isolated rains next week, which will also allow sowing to begin, although the rainy season is due to begin in late September, and then soybeans will be sown en masse.

In most of Argentina, sufficient soil moisture reserves have accumulated after rainfall, which is conducive to an early start of corn and sunflower sowing, but cold weather forecasts may inhibit active sowing. At the same time, rainfall is improving the condition of wheat crops.

Several waves of rain have increased soil moisture reserves across much of Europe , facilitating spring planting and sowing of winter crops. Another cyclone is forecast next week with precipitation spreading to eastern and southern Europe, improving conditions for winter sowing.

This week, the western and central regions of Ukraine received heavy rainfall, some of which spread to the north and south, but practically did not reach the southeastern regions, where a severe drought continues, which does not contribute to the sowing and development of winter wheat and rapeseed.

Prolonged rainfall in western and central Ukraine is delaying the harvesting of sunflower and soybeans, as well as the ripening and drying of corn, which increases the supply deficit on the market, so prices remain high.

The Black Sea regions of the Russian Federation experienced scattered precipitation, which slightly improved conditions for sowing winter crops, but overall the region remains in a drought regime, as no significant precipitation is forecast in the next 7-10 days.

Recent rains have improved soil moisture in most parts of Australia, and cooler weather is forecast for next week, but overall wheat and canola planting is proceeding under optimal conditions.

Over the past few weeks, conditions for corn and soybean planting in central and northeastern China have been favorable, with producers in the northeast already harvesting soybeans and corn, while rains continue in central China, which is conducive to sowing winter wheat and rapeseed.
