The volume of agricultural trade between Ukraine and the EU reached a record level in 2024

In 2024, the turnover of agricultural products between Ukraine and the European Union reached a record $17 billion, which exceeded the previous record of 2022 - $16.5 billion - by 3%, - reports Infagro. At the same time, the positive balance in favor of Ukraine amounted to almost $9.0 billion.
According to the Director of the NSC, Academician of the NAAS M. Pugachev, the key European partners of Ukraine in trade in agricultural goods in 2024 were Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Romania, France and Belgium, whose combined share in the total trade in agricultural products between Ukraine and the EU amounted to 80%.
In 2024, Ukraine increased its imports of agricultural products from the European Union by 9% to $4 billion compared to the previous year.
The main import items were:
- beverages – $484 million;
- food products, extracts and concentrates – $405 million;
- tobacco products – $385 million;
- animal feed products, residues and waste – $356 million;
- cocoa and chocolate products – $289 million.
- dairy products – $227 million or 7% of total turnover (+8% per year), of which various types of cheese – $225 million;
- finished grain products - $258 million.
The share of these categories of goods in the value of food imports from the EU amounted to 61%.
