On the eve of the meeting between Erdogan and Putin regarding the grain agreement, the Russian Federation again attacked the Danube ports

On the night of September 3 and 4, the Russians again attacked the port infrastructure of the Danube ports of Ukraine with martyrs. Thus, on September 3, 25 Shahed-136/131 drones were launched in several waves of attacks from Cape Chauda, Crimea and Primorsko-Okhtarsk, of which the Defense Forces of Ukraine managed to destroy 22 UAVs. However, as a result of the impact, the port infrastructure was damaged, a fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished. According to preliminary data, two civilians were injured and provided medical assistance.

On the night of September 4, on the eve of Erdogan's meeting with Putin, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions were again attacked by 32 rockets launched in several waves, most of which were shot down.

Before important international meetings, the Russian Federation always tries to create an appropriate informational background. President Erdoğan decided not to wait for Putin in Ankara, but to visit him in Sochi on September 4 to discuss the grain agreement and global grain supply. Turkey is positioning itself as a mediator trying to restore the grain agreement after the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from it on July 17, 2023, so today's meeting will be another stage of negotiations between the parties, where Erdogan will continue to put pressure on Russia.

The new UN proposal on the grain agreement provides for the connection of "Rossilhospbank" to SWIFT and the unfreezing of the assets of Russian companies, reports the Turkish Anadolu agency.

On August 31, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres sent the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation a laurel letter with a proposal to restore the grain agreement, after which the Russian Federation announced the conditions to the Western countries for the renewal of the agreement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation commented on the UN initiative as follows: "all this was foreseen before, but it never worked."
