The world's largest producer of olive oil predicts lower prices

The world's largest producer of olive oil - the Spanish company Deoleo believes that the most difficult period for this market has already passed, and predicts a decrease in the coming months of the average price per liter of olive oil from the current 9-10 € to 5 €.
Over the past five years, olive oil prices have nearly tripled as plantations have suffered from drought and poor harvests, particularly in Spain, which accounts for 40% of global olive oil production.
In the summer, Deoleo announced the most difficult moment in the history of the industry, as manufacturers were in crisis and sales of fakes increased.
But the situation has changed, and in 2024-2025, Spain, Greece and Tunisia can harvest a good harvest of olives.
Currently, prices for oil, especially for high-quality oil (for example, Extra Virgin) remain at a high level, but in the coming months, the increase in offers as the new harvest is harvested will stabilize the market, Deoleo believes.
