At the tender, Egypt purchased 170,000 tons of wheat at a price $2.5 per ton lower than at the previous tender
The first tender was held on September 27, 2023, and in it Egypt purchased 170 thousand tons of wheat of Romanian and Bulgarian origin.
The second tender was held on December 5, 2023, and in it Egypt purchased 170 thousand tons of wheat from Russia and Ukraine. The average price per ton in the second tender was $275.17 C&F, which is $2.45 lower than in the previous tender.
At the second tender, wheat was purchased in three lots:
- Two consignments of Russian wheat of 60 thousand tons each from the operator Cereal Crops Trading at a price of $278.25 per ton C&F;
- One batch of Ukrainian wheat in the amount of 50 thousand tons from the Nibulon operator at a price of $269 per ton C&F.
The delivery of wheat from the second tender should take place between January 26 and February 4, 2024.

As a result of the second tender, Egypt purchased wheat at a lower price than in the previous tender, which may indicate an improvement in conditions for Egypt on the world wheat market.
