  • buckwheat - 83.1 thousand ha or 72% (57.7 thousand ha and 51.3 thousand ha),
  • millet - 46.1 thousand ha or 77% (41.3 thousand ha and 78.1 thousand ha),
  • sunflower – 4.616 million hectares or 82% (4.2679 million hectares and 6.1234 million hectares),
  • soybean – 1.634 million ha or 89% (1.1517 million ha and 1.2192 million ha),
  • sugar beets – 240.9 thousand ha or 109% (182.1 thousand ha and 224.7 thousand ha).

 

It is worth noting that the area of sowing winter crops for the 2023 harvest has again decreased:

  • winter wheat - up to 4.166 million hectares (6.5 million hectares in 2022 and 6.8 million hectares in 2021),
  • winter barley - up to 536 thousand hectares (969 thousand hectares and 1.03 million hectares),
  • winter rapeseed - up to 1.374 million hectares (1.414 million hectares and 980 thousand hectares).

 

During the week, 585.2 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops were sown in Ukraine (1 million hectares in the previous week), and the largest area was 94.5 thousand hectares in the Chernihiv region. And Poltava Oblast became the leader in terms of sowing, where 626,600 hectares have already been sown.

 

In the coming days, warm weather with abundant precipitation is expected in the south and east of Ukraine, which will improve the condition of crops and harvest forecasts. However, in the central and western regions, dry and hot weather will limit further corn planting.
