Moldova plans to harvest almost 400 thousand tons of rapeseed in 2026

In 2025/2026, the Republic of Moldova exported 326 thousand tons of rapeseed, both in the form of raw material and processed oil, reports the republican publication Agroexpert.md.

According to data from already sown fields, in 2026 the country plans to harvest an even larger rapeseed crop, estimated at 350-400 thousand tons.

The increase in production potential is part of a broader trend observed in Europe, where analysts estimate that the area under rapeseed will increase significantly in the 2026 harvest. The main motivation remains the favorable price differential for rapeseed compared to cereals, which has prompted farmers to adjust the crop structure.

Earlier it became known that Moldova ranked second among rapeseed suppliers in the EU. And the area sown with winter rapeseed for the 2026 harvest in Moldova increased by 10-20% to a record 120 thousand hectares compared to the average of 40 thousand hectares.
