INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON RECONSTRUCTION AND RESTART October 24-25-26, 2023 Online
As Minister Tajani repeated on September 20 in New York, "the reconstruction of Ukraine will be one of the main priorities of the Italian presidency of the G7 next year."
Italian companies can and should participate in the great reconstruction of Ukraine, which promises to fundamentally change the country . In order to allow Italian and Ukrainian companies and institutions to start a concrete dialogue, as well as learn and study reconstruction projects and opportunities for exchange and internationalization, RECONSTRUCTION OF UKRAINE is an international event organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ukraine and FederCamere, scheduled for 24, 25 and 26 October , with the participation of the highest representatives of Italian, Ukrainian and European institutions.
The co-organizers of the event are ANCI - National Association of Municipalities of Italy and AUC - National Association of Municipalities of Ukraine. According to the Kyiv School of Economics, after 18 months of war, losses on the territory of Ukraine will amount to more than 150 billion dollars and will continue to increase.
Reconstruction will consist of two main stages: rapid recovery and long-term reconstruction. Below is the recovery plan developed by the Ukrainian government. ( https://recovery.gov.ua )
Immediate measures will consist of restoring critical civil and energy infrastructure destroyed by the offensive; after that, demining and rehabilitation of the liberated territories will take place.
The second stage of reconstruction , at least for a ten-year perspective, concerns the modernization of large infrastructure, as well as the regulatory and market system of the economy, in order to simultaneously facilitate the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU. Kyiv's government has unveiled its own post-war reconstruction plan, which estimates the need for more than $750 billion and includes 850 projects to restore the country to a livable appearance.
It cannot be assumed that all these funds come from government contributions, including subsidized loans from international financial institutions. For the reconstruction to become a "success story", a significant contribution of private investment will be necessary. Ukrainian ministries are already establishing relations with Western partners and companies interested in participating in this great cause.
From construction to energy, from agriculture to healthcare, from digital technologies to volunteering, there are great opportunities for Italian companies that have already started to take shape. The purpose of the conference is to become an opportunity to get to know them and establish concrete relations with the Ukrainian authorities and reconstruction participants.
