The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has lowered its forecasts for the harvest of late crops in Ukraine

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts this year’s corn harvest in Ukraine to be around 25 million tons, according to Taras Vysotskyi, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
“As for wheat, we expect a harvest of 21.8 million tons. Regarding corn, after the USDA released its forecast of 27 million tons, we see the situation less optimistically and expect a harvest of around 25 million tons,” Vysotskyi noted.
He also added that the sunflower seed harvest could reach approximately 12 million tons, though this forecast might be revised upwards.
In its August report, USDA analysts lowered their forecast for corn production in Ukraine for the 2024/25 marketing year by half a million tons to 27.2 million tons and adjusted their sunflower seed forecast down by 1 million tons to 13.5 million tons.
