The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has lowered the minimum allowable export prices due to export restrictions

On August 3, the Government of Ukraine adopted a resolution that changes the procedure for approving minimum allowable export prices for grain and oilseed crops, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports.

According to the document, in August 2026, when determining the minimum allowable export prices for certain types of products, in particular for wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower seeds, as well as certain products of their processing, including oils, a coefficient of 0.714 will be applied relative to the base estimate.

Such a step will help ensure the stability of agricultural exports in the face of logistics complications caused by the Russian shelling of Ukraine's port infrastructure, support domestic farmers, and preserve the volume of foreign exchange inflows into the country's economy.

The department notes that such changes became necessary against the backdrop of a sharp deterioration in the logistical situation. Shelling of ports and blockade of sea transportation increased the costs of transporting agricultural products, reduced the pace of exports and domestic purchase prices. Thus, prices for food wheat fell by 16%, for feed - by 17%, barley - by 14%, corn - by 8%, rapeseed - by 5%.

The average daily volume of shipments over the last week decreased to 48 thousand tons, which is three times lower than the figure for the first half of July.

Against this background, the minimum allowable export prices calculated according to the previous logistical conditions no longer corresponded to the market situation and actually prevented the conclusion of export contracts. Changing the mechanism for their calculation will allow taking into account the growth of logistical costs and ensure the continuity of exports of Ukrainian agricultural products.
