MARS predicts EU wheat yields will be 8% higher than in 2024

The EU Harvest Monitoring Service (MARS) predicts that in 2025, the yield of common wheat in the EU will increase by 8% compared to last year to 6 t/ha, which is 4% higher than the 5-year average. Durum wheat yield will increase by 4% to 3.7 t/ha, which is 8% higher than the 5-year average.

In early spring, the condition of winter crops in most of the EU was good, and the number of regions where crops were affected by adverse weather conditions decreased compared to last year. Crops were irreversibly affected in some areas of Romania and Bulgaria. The worst conditions were in eastern Ukraine, western Algeria and Morocco. In many regions, crop yields will depend on future weather conditions.
