Oil prices fell slightly after the first tankers passed through the Strait of Hormuz

The news that several oil tankers had passed through the Strait of Hormuz caused a slight drop in oil prices, which stopped when it became known that these were ships from countries that had reached an agreement with Iran. At the same time, the US military never provided a military convoy for the remaining tankers.

Yesterday, Iran allowed 4 tankers (Pakistani, Indian and two Greek) to pass through the strait, while previously it had allowed all Chinese ships to pass through. This indicates that now all countries will have to negotiate with the Iranians for the passage of ships. At the same time, Iran said that it would allow ships not affiliated with the US or Israel to pass through, and the US said that it would not stop Iranian oil exports.

In agreement with Iran, Indian warships yesterday began escorting Indian tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Recall that President Trump called on all countries, including NATO, to join in unblocking the strait, but almost no one agreed to this, which looks like a personal defeat for the US president, whose country is losing control of the situation in the region.
