Kazakhstan harvested a record crop of grain, of which it plans to export approximately 12 million tons

A record 26.5 million tons of grain were threshed in Kazakhstan this year (compared to 17.1 million tons last year), of which 12 million tons of grain and 1 million tons of oil crops can be exported, the country's authorities announced after summarizing the results of harvesting.

The MSG of the country attributed the high harvest to favorable weather conditions, the use of high-quality seeds and mineral fertilizers.

According to forecasts, Kazakhstan can export 7-7.5 million tons of wheat, 1.3-1.4 million tons of barley, 300 thousand tons of corn and 1 million tons of oil crops. About 4.2 million tons of grain will be delivered to the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan.

In 2023, compared to the previous year, Kazakhstan increased grain exports to China by 5.5 times to 1.431 million tons, in particular wheat – by 15 times to 538.8 thousand tons.

In the current year, the country's government has created all the necessary conditions for high-quality and timely sowing and harvesting. The volume of preferential financing of the industry reached a record 580 billion tenge or $1.2 billion, which were provided to farmers for direct lending, forward purchases and interest rate reduction. In 2025, financing of the industry will grow to 700 billion tenge.
