Jordan purchased wheat at an international tender for $44/t more than in June
After a two-month break, the State Procurement Agency of Jordan - MIT - held another international tender, in which it purchased 60 thousand tons of food wheat of any origin (most likely Black Sea wheat from the EU) with delivery in the first half of October 2026.
Wheat was offered at the tender by Olam (at a price of $324.5/t C&F), Bunge ($337/t), and Cargill ($339.7/t), but the winner was CHS, which offered the lowest price – $318.95/t C&F, which was $5/t cheaper than the closest competitor's offer, but $44/t higher than the purchase price of the previous June tender.
Recall that in the previous tender on June 9, MIT purchased 60 thousand tons (out of the planned 120 thousand tons) of food wheat of any origin from CHS with delivery to the port of Aqaba on August 16-31 at a price of $275.2/ton C&F.
Therefore, the new purchase became MIT's first successful deal after a long break of more than two months.
