From February 1, Ukrzaliznytsia will provide grain trucks without auctions

Starting from February 1, the Transport Logistics Center branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC will provide grain trucks for rent on a general basis, i.e. without auctions in the Prozorro.Sales ETS. This was announced by company representatives during an online meeting with agricultural market participants on January 29, Rail.insider reports.

"From February 1, CTL grain trucks will be provided without auctions, simply by applications in E-Orders at a fixed rental rate of 2,000 UAH/day per car excluding VAT," UZ reports.

But if the existing fleet of CTL grain trucks (which currently consists of about 3.3 thousand cars) cannot satisfy all requests, then CTL will return to auction sales.

However, the information provided applies to conventional wagons, while shipments in grain trucks with a body volume of 104 m³ will continue to be sold at auctions," UZ notes.

This indicates that UZ expects a further decline in demand for grain trucks, so prices for rail transportation will continue to decline in February.
