Inspections of more than 90 vessels participating in the grain initiative blocked by the Russians

The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine reports that the Russians have again blocked the registration and inspection of ships that planned to move to Ukrainian ports through the grain corridor.

"Once again, representatives of the Russian Federation effectively stopped the work of the grain initiative, refusing to register ships for entry and inspect them, which is completely contrary to the terms of the current agreement," the message reads.

The ministry noted that similar actions of the Russian Federation make it impossible to draw up inspection plans in accordance with the agreed procedures of the Joint Coordination Center, which provide for daily approval of inspections both on entry and exit of ships by representatives of all parties. Today, 90 vessels are waiting for inspection in the territorial waters of Turkey, of which 62 are those moving for loading. However, the Russians blocked inspections of ships entering and leaving Ukrainian ports.

"Ukraine categorically does not accept the Russian Federation's attempts to stop the registration and inspection of the incoming fleet, which should be carried out in accordance with the terms of the Initiative, and is waiting for the position of its partners - Turkey and the UN on this matter," - the Ministry of Reconstruction declares.
