GASC purchased 3.12 million tons of Black Sea wheat outside the tender with a monthly supply of 510,000 tons from November to April

The Egyptian state food procurement agency GASC has agreed to an agreement on the direct purchase of 3.12 million tons of Black Sea wheat, which will be supplied from November to April in batches of 510,000 tons, Reuters reports with reference to its own sources.
The name of the company with which the agreement was concluded is not known, but it is likely to be about Russian wheat, which will be supplied by a joint venture between an Egyptian company and another major participant in the grain market. Currently, the shipment of 430,000 tons of wheat with delivery in October has already been agreed to the GASC address.
In early August, GASC also tried to contract a similar volume to ensure the country's food security, announcing the largest tender in history by personal order of the president. However, it was possible to purchase only 280,000 tons of wheat.
Later it became known that GASC is conducting negotiations on the supply of large batches of wheat directly, without holding international tenders. It was assumed that "United Grain Company" (UZK) and "Demetra-Holding" took part in the negotiations from the Russian side.
