Freight Rates for Transporting Ukrainian Agricultural Products by "Short Water" Reach Seasonal Minimum

Freight rates for transporting Ukrainian agricultural products over short distances by water have today reached their lowest point this season for voyages to Turkey, Greece, or countries in the Eastern Mediterranean. This was reported by Spike Brokers on June 12 in their Telegram channel.
"As for handysize and barge shipments, the situation is stable. Freight rates for coasters transporting corn from Ukrainian Danube ports to Marmara and Eastern Greece have fallen by $1/t," the experts added.
According to their data, the market rates for river transportation as of June 2 were as follows:
- Izmail – Constanța, Romania – 9-10 euros (1-3 thousand tons);
- Izmail – Ruse/Silistra (Bulgaria) – 15 euros (1-3 thousand tons);
- Izmail – Israel – $25-26 (5-7 thousand tons);
- Reni – Marmara (Turkey) – $15-16 (5-7 thousand tons).
For transportation from the port of Chornomorsk, the rates are as follows:
- Bangladesh – $55-56 (60-65 thousand tons);
- Eastern coast of Italy – $20-22 (30-35 thousand tons);
- China – $54-56 (60-65 thousand tons).
