FAO has lowered the forecast of world wheat production in 2018/19 Mr

In a December report experts FAO reduced the estimate of world grain production in 2018/19 MG in comparison with the previous report up to 2,601 2,595 billion tons, which is 2.4% or 62.5 million tons inferior record harvest 2017/18 MG – 2,657 billion T.

due to the decrease in gross harvest in Russia and Turkey, the global wheat production this season was reduced by 2.8 million tonnes to 725,1 million tons.

the Volume of world wheat trade in 2018/19 MG will be reduced in comparison with the previous season 2.1% to 172.5 million tonnes because of reduced purchases by Algeria, India and Morocco.

Ending stocks of wheat in 2018/19 MG will decrease compared to the record level of the current season by 12% or 4.4 million tonnes to 264,5 million tons, mostly in the major exporting countries.

Assessment of production of feed grains in the current season have reduced in comparison with the previous report from 1.36 to 1,357 billion tons, which is far below the figure 2017/18 MG – 1,391 billion tons, the forecast of volume of forage grain trading increased by 1.5 million tons to a record 197 million tons Reduced production of feed grains due to the decrease in yield of barley and sorghum, while the estimate for world corn production was left unchanged, since the decrease of the gross grain harvest in the U.S. will be offset by a larger than expected harvest in Ukraine.

the Volume of world trade in corn in 2018/19 MG will increase in comparison with the previous season's 1.4% to 157.2 million tonnes, due to increased demand from the EU. As a result, world ending stocks of corn in the 2018/19 season will be reduced to 320,8 million tonnes against 366,2 million tonnes in 2017/18 MG.
