The European Union reduced imports of major oilseeds and their processed products in the 2025/26 MY

According to the European Commission, in the 2025/26 MY (from July 1 to December 21), EU countries reduced soybean imports by 14% compared to the same period of the previous year to 6 million tons, of which 2.74 million tons were supplied from the USA, 2 million tons from Brazil, 599 thousand tons from Ukraine, and 574 thousand tons from Canada.

 

Rapeseed imports during the indicated period decreased even more significantly - by 41% to 1.72 million tons, of which 1.05 million tons were supplied by Ukraine.

 

As for processed products, the volume of purchases of soybean meal by EU countries decreased by 11% to 8.83 million tons, of which 4.633 million tons were supplied from Brazil, 3.163 million tons from Argentina.

 

Imports of palm oil to the EU decreased by 9% to 1.45 million tons, of which 425 thousand tons were supplied from Indonesia, 403 thousand tons from Malaysia, and 217 thousand tons from Guatemala.
