The European Union extended the duty-free regime for Ukraine until June 2024

On May 25, the Council of the European Union adopted a resolution extending the abolition of all customs duties, quotas and trade protection measures for the export of goods from Ukraine to the EU for another year, until June 2024. The corresponding message is published on the website of the organization.

"The European Union continues to provide its firm political and economic assistance to Ukraine, which is suffering from unprovoked and unfounded aggression by the Russian Federation. Our decision will help Ukraine maintain the stability of trade relations with the EU and support its economy in difficult conditions," the message reads.

This resolution stops:

  • the effect of all customs duties on Ukrainian products in accordance with the requirements of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on the establishment of a deep and comprehensive free trade area. This applies to two categories of goods: fruits and vegetables, which are covered by the input price system, and agricultural products and products of their processing, which are covered by tariff quotas;
  • collection of anti-dumping duty on imported goods of Ukrainian production;
  • application of uniform import rules (protective measures) for goods imported from Ukraine.

The adopted resolution enters into force on June 6, 2023 and will be valid for a year.
