The European Union has raised its soft wheat harvest forecast to 128.2 million tons

Thanks to good rainfall in Romania and Spain, the European Commission has increased the forecast for EU soft wheat production in the 2025/26 MY from 126.6 to 128.2 million tonnes compared to May estimates, which will be 15% higher than last year's harvest, which was affected by excessive rains.
For France, the soft wheat production forecast has been increased by 0.53 million tons to 32.55 million tons, but a dry spell in June may lead to an adjustment in estimates.
The forecast for EU soft wheat exports in 2025/826 MY was left at 29.8 million tonnes, and ending stocks were reduced from 9 to 8.3 million tonnes due to the adjustment of opening stocks.
At the same time, barley production forecasts for the 2025/26 MY have been increased by 1 million tons to 53.3 million tons, corn - by 0.8 to 64.6 million tons, and rapeseed - by 0.1 to 18.9 million tons.
